Gardening In Hawaii

In a place with a climate like eternal spring time, where there is so much lush greenery you would think gardening would be easy. But fruit flies and acidic soil makes it relatively hard to grow vegetables in Hawaii. Some of the easiest are ones that don't mind poor, acidic soil such as: Purple Sweet Potatoes, Basil, Ginger, Green Beans, and Taro. But most gardeners will need to adjust acid soils with lime or dolomite, and add compost on a regular basis.
